Terms of Service

Last updated: October 12, 2026

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are an agreement between you and Exara. They govern your use of the Exara website, app and services (together, “Exara” or the “Service”). Please read them carefully. Together with our Privacy Policy, Acceptable Use Policy and Cookies Policy, they explain what you can expect from us and what we expect from you.

About Exara

The Service is provided by Shanea Said, c/o POSTFLEX PFX-723-412, Emsdettener Straße 10, 48268 Greven, Germany, who operates Exara (“we”, “us” or “our”). You can contact us at [email protected]. For questions about your personal data, write to [email protected].

Accepting these Terms

By creating an account, or by accessing or using Exara, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Exara.

These Terms are available on our website before you sign up, and you can save or print them at any time.

Who can use Exara

You must be at least 18 years old to use Exara. By using Exara, you confirm that you are 18 or older, that you can enter into a binding agreement, and that no applicable law bars you from using the Service.

Exara is offered to individuals for their own personal development. It is not offered to businesses or organisations for use on other people.

Your account

You need an account to use most of Exara. Please give accurate information when you sign up and keep it up to date.

You are responsible for keeping access to your email account and your sign-in secure, and for activity under your account that you authorise or that results from your failure to keep your sign-in secure. Accounts are personal: do not share yours or let anyone else use it. If you believe someone has accessed your account without permission, tell us promptly at [email protected].

What Exara is, and what it is not

Exara is a tool for personal development and self-reflection. It asks you questions and uses artificial intelligence to offer reflections on your motivations, your drivers and your direction in life.

Exara is not medical, psychological, psychiatric, therapeutic or diagnostic advice or treatment, and it is not a substitute for a qualified professional. It is not human resources, recruitment, employment, career or other professional advice, and it must not be used to assess, select or make decisions about anyone. Nothing in Exara is a diagnosis or a statement of fact about you.

The decisions you make in your life remain yours. If you have concerns about your health or wellbeing, please consult a qualified professional.

AI-generated content

Much of what Exara shows you, including reflections, summaries, questions and your Portrait, is generated by artificial intelligence. AI-generated content can be inaccurate, incomplete, generic or unexpected, and it may not reflect who you are.

Please use your own judgement. Do not rely on AI-generated content as a sole source of truth or as professional advice, and evaluate it before you act on it.

Not for emergencies

Exara is not designed for emergencies or crisis situations and cannot provide help in one. If you or someone else may be in danger, contact your local emergency services or the relevant authorities immediately.

Free beta, availability and changes

Exara is currently offered free of charge as an early beta. Because it is a beta, features, limits and availability may change, and parts of the Service may be added, modified, suspended or discontinued. We do not promise that Exara will be available at any particular time or without interruption.

If we decide to discontinue Exara as a whole, we will give you reasonable advance notice where we can, so that you can download a copy of what you wrote.

If we offer paid plans in the future, they will have their own terms, which we will show you before you buy. We will never charge you without your express agreement.

Your content

You keep ownership of what you write in Exara, such as your answers, journal entries and notes (“Your Content”). You are responsible for Your Content and confirm that you have the right to share it with us.

So that we can run Exara for you, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, process, analyse and display Your Content, and to create outputs from it, for the purpose of providing, maintaining, securing and improving the Service. This licence lasts for as long as we keep Your Content under our Privacy Policy, and it extends to the service providers who help us run Exara, acting on our instructions.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle the personal data in Your Content.

Exara’s intellectual property

Exara and everything we provide through it belong to Exara or our licensors. This includes the software, the design, the Exara name and brand, the questions, the method and structure of the assessment and of the analyses, and all content the Service generates for you, such as reflections, reports and your Portrait. They are protected by intellectual property and other laws, and all rights not expressly granted in these Terms are reserved.

We grant you a personal, non-commercial, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to read, download and keep the content Exara generates for you, for your own personal use.

Your licence to use Exara

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and non-sublicensable licence to access and use Exara for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. This licence ends if your access ends as described in “Suspension and termination”.

Restrictions

Unless we have agreed otherwise in writing, or the law expressly allows it, you must not:

(a) copy, reproduce, distribute, sell, rent, publish or commercially exploit Exara or any part of it, including its questions, its method or the content it generates;

(b) modify, translate or create derivative works of Exara, or decompile, disassemble or reverse engineer it, or try to discover its source code, models, prompts or underlying structure;

(c) use robots, spiders, scrapers, crawlers or other automated means to access Exara or to extract content from it;

(d) use Exara, its outputs or its method to build, train, improve or benchmark a competing product or service;

(e) circumvent, disable or interfere with any security, access or usage-limit feature of Exara;

(f) remove or obscure any notice of ownership; or

(g) use Exara in breach of these Terms, our Acceptable Use Policy or the law.

Acceptable use

You must follow our Acceptable Use Policy, which forms part of these Terms. It explains what you may not do with Exara, including using it to assess other people or for recruitment, employment or career decisions.

Feedback

If you send us ideas, suggestions or other feedback about Exara, you give us, to the extent the law allows, a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, transferable and sublicensable licence to use it for any purpose, without any obligation or payment to you. Please do not send us feedback you consider confidential. Feedback does not include Your Content, which remains covered by “Your content”.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use personal data.

Suspension and termination

You may stop using Exara at any time, and you can delete your account from your profile. A deleted account can be restored by signing back in within 90 days; after that, it is permanently erased, as described in our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your access to Exara, in whole or in part, if you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms or our Acceptable Use Policy, if the law requires us to, or where it is reasonably necessary to protect you, other users, third parties or Exara from harm. Where appropriate and lawful, we will tell you the reason and give you notice in advance. Your access also ends if we discontinue Exara, as described in “Free beta, availability and changes”.

The sections that by their nature should continue to apply after your access ends, including those on ownership, feedback, disclaimers, liability, your responsibility for misuse and disputes, continue to apply.

Disclaimers

Exara is a free beta. To the extent permitted by law, it is provided “as is” and “as available”, and we make no promises or warranties, express or implied, that it will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free or fit for a particular purpose, or that its content, including AI-generated content, is accurate, complete or reliable.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits your statutory rights as a consumer that cannot be excluded or limited by contract, including, where they apply, your rights concerning the conformity of digital content and digital services.

Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for (a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence, (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, (c) damage we cause intentionally or through gross negligence, or (d) any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including mandatory consumer protection law.

Subject to the previous paragraph, and to the extent permitted by law: (a) where we are liable for slight negligence, we are liable only for breach of our essential obligations under these Terms and only for damage that was reasonably foreseeable when you accepted these Terms; (b) we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for loss of profit, revenue or business opportunity, or for decisions you make on the basis of content Exara generates; and (c) our total liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to Exara or these Terms is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for Exara in the 12 months before the claim arose and EUR 100.

Your responsibility for misuse

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to compensate us for reasonable losses, damages and costs, including reasonable legal fees, that we incur because of third-party claims arising from your breach of these Terms or of our Acceptable Use Policy, or from your violation of the law or of someone else’s rights, to the extent they are caused by your fault. This does not apply to the extent that a loss was caused by us.

Changes to these Terms

We may change these Terms, for example to reflect changes to Exara, to the law or to how we operate. If a change is material, we will give you reasonable advance notice by email or in the Service before it takes effect. Changes required by law, or needed to address security issues or misuse, may take effect sooner.

If you do not agree to a change, you can stop using Exara and delete your account before the change takes effect. If you continue to use Exara after it takes effect, the updated Terms apply to you. The date at the top shows when these Terms were last updated.

Resolving disputes

If you have a concern about Exara, please contact us first at [email protected]; most concerns can be resolved quickly that way.

General terms

Entire agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Acceptable Use Policy and Cookies Policy, which are incorporated into them by reference, form the entire agreement between you and us about Exara.

Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in full force and effect.

Assignment. You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms to anyone else. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms to another organisation, for example if Exara is reorganised or sold, provided that this does not reduce your rights under these Terms. We will tell you if this happens.

No waiver. If we do not enforce a provision of these Terms straight away, we can still enforce it later.

Events beyond our control. We are not responsible for any failure or delay in performing these Terms that is caused by events beyond our reasonable control.

No third-party rights. These Terms do not give any rights to anyone other than you and us.

Language

These Terms are written in English. Translations are provided for convenience only. If there is any conflict between the English version and a translation, the English version prevails, to the extent permitted by law.
